Delivery Information

Delivery charges

Our delivery charges are clear and simple.  For orders under £100 the delivery charge is £4.95.  Orders over £100 are delivered free of charge - * some exceptions apply for the postcodes listed below where a surcharge is payable, we will contact you after order confirmation to take payment of this.

Scotland postcodes: EH, DG, FK, G, KA 1-26, 29, 30, KY, ML, PA 1 – 19, TD - estimated surcharge £26

Scotland postcodes: AB, DD, IV 1-28, 30-32, 36, 40-49, 52-56, 63, KW 1-3, 5-14, , PA(21-28), PH1-26, 30-41, 49-50 - estimated surcharge £52-100

Wales postcodes: LL, LD, SY16-20, 23-25, SA -estimated surcharge £27

Wales postcodes: CF, NP: estimated surcharge £23

Delivery process for Furniture items

  1. We are currently unable to deliver outside of the UK as a standard.  However, it is our intention to do so (as we have a lot of interest from the USA, Australia and Europe) and we are therefore currently putting the logistics arrangements in place for this to happen.  In the meantime, please contact us at info@thecountryhome.co.ukor telephone on (+44) 115 9533007,and we'd be happy to discuss options.
  2. We will provide an estimate of delivery time following your order confirmation. For items that are in stock at our warehouse you can expect delivery within 10 working days.  All items that are out of stock are highlighted as such on the website.  In that instance, we can email you to let you know when it’s back in stock.  If an item has gone out of stock after you’ve processed your order online, we’ll notify you as quickly as possible to let you know the expected delivery time.
  3. Once your item is ready for dispatch, we’ll contact you to arrange a suitable delivery time, then we'll text you the evening before and call when we're an hour away.
  4. Our standard delivery will be 1 man but our drivers are well equipped to deliver your furniture safely
  5. We will deliver to a downstairs room of choice, or upstairs if it is safe to do so.
  6. We will always do whatever we can to meet any date agreed for delivery but we are not liable for any delay, we will however keep you fully informed as soon as we know that there may be a delay.
  7. Unless you request otherwise, where an order contains more than one item all items will be delivered at the same time once all items are available.
  8. Where a delivery date has been agreed with our carrier but the Buyer isn't present to receive the delivery we reserve the right to charge the customer a minimum of £25 to cover part of the cost of the failed delivery.

 

Important checks before you order:

Please make sure that you check the dimensions of the delivery address for access (including doors, corridors, stairs and corners) particularly thinking about awkward or small doorways and staircases and the proposed location before ordering large pieces of furniture to make sure it can be delivered and to confirm that the product is the right size for your needs – if you’re not sure please contact us before ordering.  Where large products are returned as unwanted, we reserve the right to charge a 20% re-stocking charge.

  1. Mattresses can only be returned if they are unopened. Mattresses which have been opened and slept on cannot be returned. If you wish to test a mattress please keep it wrapped until you are sure you want to keep it.
  2. We have to point out that our legal obligation for delivery is to your doorstep, if the item is taken to a room of your choice this is done at the property owners and customers own risk.  Although our delivery drivers will take good care if any damage is incurred either to the goods or premises, we will not be responsible.  On delivery, an adult must be present to check and sign for the delivery.  Once you’ve signed the paperwork, we can’t accept responsibility for any damage to either the goods or your property.  We hope you understand of this.
  3. Any damages, shortages or discrepancies must be notified in writing to us within 48 hrs.
  4. Delivery process for Accessories

Our home accessories – soft furnishings, lighting, mirrors and decorative accessories – are delivered by courier.  We like to take over your order, so we aim to assemble, check and wrap your order for delivery within 3 working days.  Our parcels are then delivered by courier within a further 3-5 working days. 

 

Export restrictions

We do not currently deliver to Europe, the USA or Australia, however should you require a quote for delivery to any of these areas simply contact us directly on (+44) 115 9533007 or email us at info@thecountryhome.co.uk. We can also arrange to drop at your forward shippers.
